AUTHOR & SPEAKER

AUTHOR BIO:

Amy's story is one of overcoming tough life challenges. In her debut memoir, 'Fleetwood Dreams', she invites you into a raw and powerful journey of heartache, loss, healing, and the relentless pursuit of hope. It’s a story of grief, yes—but more importantly, it’s a story of her climb back up.

Amy lives in Wisconsin with her husband and daughter, where she enjoys outdoor adventures, travel, and teaching yoga. She has a degree from UW-Whitewater in Journalism and enjoys jobs where she can help and inspire others. She's spent 9 years working as a case manager in the area, and several years as fitness instructor, and is now as a first-time author (and speaker) with Ten16 Press.

Amy is currently working on her second book- Mindful Mabel, a children’s book designed to teach mindfulness to young readers. In addition to writing, she teaches Yoga and Pilates and serves as a Client Coordinator for a boutique therapy practice in Milwaukee. She also spends her spare time reading and reviewing manuscripts for her publisher.

Outside of work, Amy loves exploring new holistic practices, reading, traveling, and getting lost in documentaries and podcasts that motivate and inspire. Above all, she treasures time spent with her six-year-old daughter, her family (and dog), and her mission to encourage others to live their best lives!

In her memoir Fleetwood Dreams: Climbing a Mountain after a Landslide, Amy candidly recounts her road to healing and how she worked through generational trauma and grief. After tragically losing both her mother and twin brother in her teens and early twenties, Amy finds herself hopeless and unsure of how to cope with such tremendous losses. She struggles to make sense of her brother's murder and find the strength to live a life without him, asking, "Can a twin survive without their twin?"

She takes an intimate look at loss and the raw uncertainty, devastation, and heartache that come along with it. Through trial and error, Amy climbs her way out of despair, with a few hard lessons, a little humor and a lot of hope along the way! She hopes her memoir will help others feel less alone with their grief, give a little insight on what helped her, and leave others with a feeling of hope.
